Matthew W. Kingsbury has been a presbyterian minister of Word and sacrament since 1999 and currently serves as assistant pastor at Living Hope Church (PCA) in Hamilton, Ohio. He teaches 4th-grade English Language Arts at a charter school in Cincinnati. He longs for the recovery of confessional and liturgical presbyterianism, the reunification of the Protestant Church, the restoration of the American Republic, and the salvation of the English language from the barbarian hordes.

Calvin's Institutes, Battles edition: pp. 503-507, vol. 1
Calvin begins Book 2, chapter 16 with four remarkable sections on God's love for sinners. Interestingly, he forcefully argues God's love for us preceded his decision to be gracious to us.
Powerful prose, well worth reading and meditating upon.
